Expanding Vistas: The Vesell Family Collection and Works from the LVC Fine Art Collection

In this exhibition, American landscapes from the Hudson River School are displayed in conversation with a range of prints, paintings, and other visual media drawn from the Lebanon Valley College Fine Art Collection. The Hudson River School was America’s first truly native school of art, celebrating its wealth of natural resources and unspoiled wilderness at the midpoint of the 19th century. Select works from All That Is Glorious Around Us: The Vesell Family Collection, donated by Hillary Vesell, Esq., in memory of her father, Dr. Elliot Vesell, are paired with works by contemporary and regional artists, thus opening new avenues for understanding their imagery and impact. Please join us for a stimulating conversation about landscape, regional identity, and our interaction with the natural environment across artistic styles and form.
