BUS TRIP - Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor

SOLD OUT! LVC has reserved tickets for the upcoming blockbuster exhibition, Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor, at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C. Nearly 2,000 years ago, thousands of life-size clay figures were buried in massive underground pits to accompany China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, into the afterlife. Their discovery outside the city of Xi'an in 1974 is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. Stand face-to-face with more than 100 treasures from the tomb complex that include life-size figures, weapons, armor, coins, and more. Gettysburg Alumni Night at ABC

Are you in need of a fun night to unwind and get your mind off your busy lifestyle? Join fellow LVC alumni and friends for a casual after-work social at Appalachian Brewing Company in Gettysburg! The night consists of a unique and exciting behind-the-scenes tour of the popular Appalachian Brewing Company microbrewery followed by a chance to taste ABC's own distinctive specialty brews and delicious appetizers.The night's menu includes: Mountain Lager bratwurst bites, assorted wraps, veggie tempura, a variety of desserts and beverages, and two drinks from the bar.

Distinguished Artist Series: Hwaen Ch’uqi

The final concert in LVC’s inaugural Distinguished Artists Series will feature Hwaen Ch’uqi, a native of Peru who grew up in Manheim, Lancaster County. Blind since birth, Hwaen Ch’uqi has become an elite, international classical pianist. Tickets are available in advance at the Music Department office for $10, or online and at the door for $15. Alumni Volunteer Day at Central PA Food Bank

LVC strives to give back to the community. Alumni now have a chance to continue this important mission of community service. Join fellow alumni during National Volunteer Week (April 18-24, 2010) at the Central PA Food Bank on Saturday, April 24, 8:30 a.m.–Noon. Friends and family are welcome. Children must be 10 years of age or older. This volunteer project includes warehouse duties of sorting food, labeling cans and boxes, and stocking shelves. In addition to volunteering, you will also learn about the importance of the Food Bank and how you are making an impact on the community. Project work is considered a “heavy” physical exertion level. The Food Bank is located at 3908 Corey Road, Harrisburg. Following the event, participants have the option of gathering at a nearby restaurant for lunch. Save the date! Get a behind-the-scenes look at the world's largest outdoor art gallery on an open-air antique trolley! Ryan Derfler '04, City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program tour manager, will offer a fun, engaging private tour of some of the city’s over 3,000 renowned, super-sized murals. Rich with history, the tour will leave you with an understanding of the complexities of mural-making and an appreciation of this unique aspect of Philadelphia’s culture. After the tour, gather with fellow alumni and friends for lunch with a view at the Chart House riverfront restaurant. Parking for the event will be conveniently available in the Chart House restaurant's lot, where the tour begins and ends.
Alumni Weekend '10: June 11-13
Class years ending in 5 and 0 will celebrate milestone reunions during the weekend. Volunteers are needed to assist with reunion efforts for the classes of 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, and 1995.
