United Methodist Scholarships
Lebanon Valley College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church which provides scholarship opportunities for students. Qualified applicants must have been members of the United Methodist Church for at least one year, and must demonstrate commitment to the church. Financial need is also considered when selecting recipients. Scholarships are renewable for four years. Awards are worth $500 - $1,000 annually, and may be made either by the college or through one of the national UM headquarters in Nashville, TN.
Scholarship applications may be done on-line for scholarships awarded by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry located in Nashville. The link will also provide information about a low interest United Methodist Loan, "Five for Five," which will allow UM students to borrow up to $5,000 annually at 5% interest. Unlike scholarships, the loans will need to be repaid.]
Update from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry: 03/14/2013 - Scholarship applications for 2013-14 for GBHEM are now closed. Applicants be sure to watch for an email from applyists.com this summer as this is how you will be notified of award results. Please be sure to update any changes to your email address on your demographics page on your application at www.gbhem.org/scholarshipapplication. Spring 2013 LOAN applications are still open - Apply now before funds are exhausted for the spring semester. Take advantage of the current 3.75% interest rate! Fall 2013 Loan applications will open Monday, June 3, 2013.

Students are encouraged to check those websites regularly as the availability of funds dictates at which times during the year applications are accepted. Also take careful note of deadlines which may vary from scholarship to scholarship.
Some additional UM Scholarships are awarded annually at the college level to enrolled students who demonstrate financial need. You may add your name to a roster of United Methodist students by contacting the Financial Aid Office at email@example.com
. Please specify "United Methodist Scholarship" on the subject line of your e-mail request, and include your name and address in the body of the message. In addition, please provide the name and address of the UM church where you are a member, and specify the conference to which your church belongs. As scholarships become available they will be awarded to students listed on the roster. Some scholarships carry a minimum GPA requirement.
