Director of Enterprise Information Systems

Functional Description: The Director of Enterprise Information Systems is responsible for the use and management of the college's administrative information systems, and heads the Enterprise Information Systems group within Information Technology. The Director of Enterprise Information Systems is a member of the Information Technology management team that also includes the Director of Technology and User Support, the Manager of Infrastructure and Security and the Director of Information Technology.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Serving as chief system administrator for Colleague and Raiser's Edge, the college's administrative information systems, and assuring data security and application security.
  • Working with others in Information Technology to assure adequate system security and properly executed backup and restore policies.
  • Regularly evaluating the needs of all users of the college's administrative information and systems and recommending solutions and standards to meet those needs.
  • Coordinating projects to implement services or functions needed by users of the college's administrative information and systems.
  • Assuring adequate training of users of the college's administrative information and systems. In some cases, as in the use of Colleague and Raiser's Edge software, this involves the full range of training from the development of the curriculum and training materials to the actual training itself.
  • Assisting others Information Technology staff members as needed in projects affecting users of the college's administrative information and services.
  • Remaining current in the field of computing by regularly reading trade journals and attending workshops, seminars and other training sessions as required.
  • Participating with others on the Information Technology management team in long-range and strategic planning for Information Technology

External Working Relationships: Vendors.

Direct Reports: Database Analyst and Programmer, Database Specialist, Web and Database Programmer

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree.
