Senior PC Support Specialist

Functional Description: The Senior PC Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating the support of all desktop computer users and student computer labs. Coordinate all Client Services reporting functions, deployment-related tasks, end-point security, and centralized management of client computers. The Senior PC Support Specialist is part of the Client Services group within IT Services.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Provide expert-level support to users of desktop computer systems.
    • Coordinate the help desk including configuration of the help desk systems, train personnel, monitor open calls on a daily basis, assure the timely diagnosis and repair of computers and related equipment, and respond to trouble reports as assigned.
    • Coordinate the installation, upgrade and swap of personal computers and related equipment.
    • Participate in the development of standards for desktop computing hardware, software, and security and maintaining adequate documentation of established standards.
    • In coordination with Client Services Coordinator maintain an accurate inventory of all IT Services equipment.
    • Coordinate all Client Services reporting functions for: inventory, call tracking, printing, etc.
    • Coordinate deployment-related tasks and centralized management of client computers. (MS Deployment Toolkit; System Center Configuration Manager; client computer data security.)
    • Assist in the training of users and development of documentation in conjunction with others in Client Services.
    • Ensure – along with others in Client Services – the smooth operation of all ITS computer labs.
    • Maintain an expert level of knowledge in campus-supported desktop computing applications and use of network resources including the Internet.
    • In coordination with the PC Support Specialist, supervise student employees who assist in the completion of any of the above duties.
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Serve as a resource person to others in IT Services and participating in projects as required.
    • Remain up-to-date on current developments and trends in the field of computing.
    • Remain current on required certifications.
    • Other duties as assigned.

      Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree.
