Mission and Objectives

Our mission:

The mission of the Master of Science Education Program at Lebanon Valley College is to provide educators at all grade levels with scientific understanding and pedagogical strategies through quality graduate-level courses that are grounded in the latest state and national standards, as well as relevant research-based methods, so that they become more effective communicators, mentors, and leaders in the ever-changing field of science education.

Our beliefs:

  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged.
  • Collaborative, inquiry-based activities are an important component of a quality science program.
  • Teachers are role models.
  • Today’s learners are immersed in technology.
  • Science content must be relevant to students’ lives.

Our outcomes:

The MSE Program provides the PDE required Instructional Level II certification credits for SAS and inclusive classrooms, graduate credits, and Act 48 credits through core courses as well as a variety of special topic seminars. Evening, day, and summer classes are offered.
