Scott Eggert is a professor emeritus of music

As a composer, Dr. Eggert has published hundreds of compositions in a wide variety of musical media. Various ensembles and groups at Lebanon Valley College have performed a number of his pieces. His compositions have reached international recognition.

Eggert was signed to LVC's very own record label in the spring of 2012. Vale Records released his record of completely original work, Volume 1, at the Vale Music Industry Conference in the fall of 2013. Wisconsin-born composer Scott Eggert was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Chicago, and the University of Kansas. His composition teachers include John Downey, Ralph Shapey, Easley Blackwood, Roger Sessions, and John Pozdro.

He served on the faculty of Lebanon Valley College for 30 years, teaching music theory and composition, until his retirement in 2013. As well as having a busy schedule, Eggert has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. He continues to be active and in demand as a composer, and is currently at work on an opera based on Shakespeare’s play, The Winter’s Tale.
