Below you will find a list of suggested items to pack and bring with you to campus.

Personal Items:

  • Soap, shampoo, etc.
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Shower caddy/basket
  • Shower shoes/sandals
  • Bath towels
  • First-aid kit
  • Medicine (Tylenol, Advil, etc.)
  • Clothing (fall/winter)- Remember there is a limited amount of space
  • Clothes hangers
  • Sewing kit

For Your Room:

  • Fan
  • Surge protectors
  • Extension cords (12 gauge)
  • Alarm clock
  • Tissues, paper towels
  • Waste basket
  • Laundry detergent
  • Laundry basket
  • Umbrella

For Your Desk:

  • Computer
  • Printer and paper
  • Ethernet cable
  • Pencils, pens, notebooks
  • Stapler, tape
  • Thumbtacks
  • Post-It notes

For Entertainment:

  • Television

Bedding:

  • Pillows
  • Extra-long sheets (except Vickroy)
  • Storage bins for under your bed
  • Mattress pad

Kitchen Items:

  • Small refrigerator (no larger than 4.7 cubic feet)
  • Microwave (700 watts max.)
  • Plates
  • Plastic utensils
  • Snacks
  • Soda/bottled water

Important Tips:

  • Discuss with your roommate who will bring what items prior to arriving on campus.  Remember, only one micorowave and one refrigerator are allowed per room!

  • As a way to help maintain the walls in your assigned room, Residential Life strongly encourages students to hang items by using painters tape or sticky tack.  These products can be removed very easily without causing damage to the walls.
