Program in Brief
This fall or spring semester program offers students the opportunity to take four courses abroad in almost any concentration.

Orientation
There is a mandatory set of pre-departure orientations at LVC for all students planning to participate in the program. Students attend an on-site orientation at the University of Waikato.

Location
The University of Waikato is located in the city of Hamilton, New Zealand's fourth largest city in the north-central region of the North Island, only 90 minutes south of Auckland. The Waikato area offers a wide range of recreational activities with many of New Zealand's major lifestyle just a short drive from the University. These include excellent surfing and swimming beaches, forest parks, lakes, thermal hot pools, and limestone caves.

Housing and Meals
Students will live in an on-campus residence hall and will eat all meals in an on-campus dining hall.

Academics
On meeting the stated prerequisites, LVC students will individually select four courses from the university
sky diving's offerings.

Cost
  • LVC tuition and fees
  • LVC room and board charges
Travel and personal expenses are NOT included in these fees. Fees subject to change. Expect to spend about $1,500** for round-trip airfare.

**LVC will provide a $400 airfare subsidy for all students attending the New Zealand program.

Dates
Fall semester
  • Application timetable: Applications should be received by March 15.
  • $25 deposit is due with application.*
  • Accepted students owe $475 program deposit.*
  • Packet-of-forms is due April 15.
  • Fall semester in NZ (approx. 16 credits): Early July to mid November.

Spring semester

  • Application timetable: Applications should be received by October 15.
  • $25 deposit is due with application.*
  • Accepted students owe $475 program deposit.*
  • Packet-of-forms is due November 15.
  • Spring semester in NZ (approx. 16 credits): Mid February to early July.

*The $500 program deposit will be credited to the student's account in the Business Office for the start of the off-campus semester. The $500 deposit will be forfeited on student withdrawal from the program.

Students from any major who are in good standing (2.5 GPA) may apply.

Semester Break (two weeks)
Students will enjoy a two-week, mid-semester break, a perfect opportunity to travel around New Zealand and the South Pacific. Australia, for instance, is only about three hours away by plane.
