Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make my gift?
The quickest way is to use our secure online giving form. For more details, including how to make gifts of stock or where to learn more about putting LVC in your will, please see our ways to give page.

If you are writing a check, please make it payable to "Lebanon Valley College."

Is my online gift secure?
Absolutely. Our website security is managed by iModules. iModules maintains compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), the worldwide accepted standard for e-commerce security compliance, and is certified compliant as a Level One Service Provider by a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) authorized by the PCI Security Standards Council.

What is The Valley Fund?
The Valley Fund
is LVC's annual fund, which supports the College's greatest and most immediate needs including: scholarships and financial aid, faculty and academic support, student life, and campus enhancements. Virtually every aspect of life and learning at LVC is impacted by gifts made to The Valley Fund.

How does the matching gift program work?
Contact your human resources office or visit our online matching gift directory to see if your or your spouse's employer matches charitable gifts to LVC. If so, they can provide you with the necessary form or procedure for initiating the matching gift process. If your company uses a written form, fill out the employee section and send it to: Development Office, Lebanon Valley College, 101 North College Ave., Annville, PA 17003.

Is my matching gift amount added to my personal gift amount?
Yes. You will receive credit for all gifts received from you, your employer, or your spouse's employer during the fiscal year.

Will my gifts to LVC be tax deductible?
Yes. Lebanon Valley College is a tax-exempt public charity (501(c)3) as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Your gift to LVC qualifies as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes as permitted by law. However, if your contribution entitles you to merchandise, goods, or services, including a round of golf, an LVC t-shirt, or a season pass to athletic contests, you can deduct only the amount that exceeds the fair market value of the benefit received. An official receipt will be issued for tax purposes on all gifts received by the College.

What is LVC's tax ID number?
LVC's tax ID number is 23-1352354.

Will my gift count toward my class giving?
All gifts made to LVC will count toward your class' giving totals.

When does The Valley Fund ask for support?
LVC's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. The Valley Fund's year coincides with the College's fiscal year. For gifts to be counted in the current fiscal year, they must be received no later than June 30. Making your gift by December 31 is a great idea as it provides a year-end tax advantage for you and LVC saves the cost of sending you additional mailings.

Will my gift make a difference?
Yes! Your support of LVC has a direct impact on scholarships, technology, athletics, and other resources for our students. Gifts of all sizes are encouraged and appreciated.

What opportunities are there for recognition?
Naming opportunities are available at many levels of giving—from $1,500 to plant a tree, to $25,000 to fund a named scholarship, to several million dollars for a building project. Donors are encouraged to contact Danielle Vigilante Webb, director of annual giving, at vigilant@lvc.edu to discuss their options.
