Sue Jones ’92
Director of Alumni & Family Engagement
Sue Jones, LVC Class of 1992, is grateful for her long career at The Valley, starting shortly after graduation as an Admission Counselor and rising to Director. She also spent four years in Financial Aid and three years in Retention before moving to the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement in 2016.
Sue arrived at LVC as a first-year student after seeking all the opportunities the small, private liberal arts college provided for its students. She played field hockey, participated in several organizations, and was a Valley Ambassador tour guide, which opened the door to her first position in Admissions.
She credits “the people” as her favorite thing about LVC, having benefitted from great professors, mentors, co-workers, alumni, and friends. She loves watching the students grow academically, socially, and professionally as they move through their LVC experience. Sue is constantly impressed by how much our students accomplish and enjoys being surrounded by the positivity and aspirations of LVC’s students.
Outside work, Sue loves sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, her lifelong NFL team. She follows baseball, football, and hockey but has a special connection to golf as her family is in the business, and she regularly plays. Her teenage daughter also keeps her busy as an active year-round athlete, but she squeezes in time to read and enjoy music.
