Abby Anderson

Associate Director of Student Engagement & Residential Life Area Coordinator

B.S., George Fox University; M.A., Messiah University

From early on in her college career, Abby Anderson has had a love for administration and leadership development. After interning with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and her alma mater’s athletic peer mentorship program, Abby quickly fell in love with identity development and formation in college-aged students. Couple that with her studies in Psychology and Neuroscience, and her passion really began to grow. This passion and interest eventually led her from Washington to Pennsylvania to pursue a Master’s in Higher Education, emphasizing Student Development. Shortly after graduating with her Master’s, she found herself at LVC in the Center for Student Engagement.

Abby points to the small campus and welcoming environment as one of her favorite aspects of LVC. She believes the deep care that LVC’s staff and faculty have for the students sets them apart from other colleges and universities. She is also excited to put her passion for student development and identity formation into practice by working closely with students.

Abby oversees several student groups on campus, including the First Year Mentors, who help welcome and acclimate new students to campus during orientation weekend. She also advises the Greek Council, Student Government, Student Programming Board, and Gamma Sigma Sigma, one of the College’s sororities. She also works diligently to plan campus events like New Student Orientation, Jingle Jam, Escape the Grind, and ValleyFest.

In her free time, Abby loves to spend her time reading, taking care of her plants, or relaxing watching her favorite TV shows. Her favorite things to do are browse bookstores/libraries and try new ice cream shops with her fiancé, Luke.
