Nursing Student Receives Scholarship

Nursing student Allison Cooper

Lebanon Valley College Nursing major Allison Cooper ’26 received the McLean Scholarship for Nursing and Physician Assistant Majors through the McLean Contributionship and the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP).

Cooper was one of eight students to receive this scholarship, which is reserved for full-time undergraduates in a nursing or physician assistant program with a GPA of at least 3.0 who are campus leaders and community volunteers.

A resident of Annville, Cooper serves as a peer tutor and treasurer of LVC’s Student Nursing Association of Pennsylvania club. She also works as a nursing assistant at Good Samaritan Hospital and volunteers in her church’s nursery.

Cooper chose to major in Nursing based on a personal experience with a hospital stay as a teenager. She intends to pursue a career as a pediatric oncology nurse.

“It was an extremely frightening experience, but my nurses made such a positive impact on my hospitalization,” said Cooper. “Ever since then, I have wanted to make a positive difference as a nurse for other people, just like they did for me.”
