Strasbourg is a city with rich culture and history in the French-German border area. Both German and French are spoken in or nearby the city. This is a one-week study abroad program to experience the cultural differences and provides opportunities to use language skills in real-world.

Program Details

Program fee for Spring Break in Strasbourg 2025 is $1,600 and will include:  

  • Tuition 
  • Housing 
  • Excursions 

Does not include airfare, meals, and personal expenses. All student participants are eligible for scholarship funding for this study abroad program. With scholarship funding, total expenses for the experiences are estimated around $2,100.

Program Dates: February 28–March 8, 2025 

Application deadline: November 1, 2024

Students will fulfill a 1-credit Immersive Experience (IME) that focuses on intercultural communication through formal instruction and guided activities in Strasbourg, Freiburg, and Paris.

Students will stay in a youth hostel. Meals are not provided but cooking facilities should be available. 

Structure of the program:  

  • flying into Paris, train ride to Strasbourg 
  • instruction on intercultural communication 
  • guided activities in Strasbourg, e.g. architectural tour, visit to a European institution, exploring the tri-lingual history of Strasbourg (French, German, Alsatian) 
  • excursions to a German location, e.g., a company visit with component of intercultural communication  
  • last day/night of the program in Paris, departure from Paris
