Ann Burris
Director of Counseling Services
I grew up in Lebanon County, PA, but I am originally from Upstate New York. In addition to Pennsylvania and New York, I have also lived in Florida.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Shippensburg University. I have been a counselor for over 25 years and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2002. I started my career at Binghamton University in New York, then moved back to Pennsylvania and accepted a position at St Francis University. My most recent position before joining LVC was Senior Professor, Counseling at Harrisburg Area Community College. Additionally, I worked as a therapist for a local mental health facility. My areas of interest and expertise are depression, anxiety, grief and bereavement, LGBTQ+, and PTSD. My approach to counseling is helping students discover their own resilience and grit.
I am married with 1 child and 2 dogs. I enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, and home improvement projects. One of my personal heroes is Eleanor Roosevelt who said, “All of life is a constant education”.
