LVC Partners with Athliance to Connect Students with Name, Image, Likeness Opportunities
The Lebanon Valley College Athletics Department announced a partnership with Athliance, a compliance and education software company, to help student-athletes and higher education institutions make the most of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. Through NIL, student-athletes pursue sponsorships that will help them develop a personal brand, gain entrepreneurial experience, and build career-ready skills such as negotiation, social media influencing, and communication. LVC becomes the first school in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) to partner with Athliance and just the second in Pennsylvania.
“We are excited to give our student-athletes, coaches, and staff all the resources needed to navigate the NIL landscape while remaining compliant with all state, NCAA, MAC, and LVC protocols. NIL is a game-changer for our student-athletes, and Athliance will help support our students in leveraging opportunities,” said Rick Beard, director of athletics.
Athliance makes it easy for students to disclose the terms of their NIL opportunities and ensure that they comply with regulations. Educational resources on “all things NIL” are available to student-athletes and coaches. One educational component, the financial wellness platform Financial IQ, helps student-athletes navigate topics such as when to start an LLC, how to file taxes, and how to improve their credit score.
“Athliance is excited to partner with Lebanon Valley College to help assist their student-athletes and athletic department as we embark on NIL together,” said Peter Schoenthal, Athliance’s chief executive officer. “We are focused on educating and protecting student-athletes and universities alike. Nobody truly knows what to expect, but one thing is certain: NIL is here to stay, and Athliance will adapt and scale with new rules and regulations so that student-athletes can make the most of the vast opportunities available to them.”
