Robert "Bob" Mikus ’90
Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Affairs
When Bob started the master’s degree program in psychology at La Salle University, his plan was to earn a doctorate in the field and become a therapist. As a resident assistant, he soon discovered that he enjoyed working with undergraduate students, which sparked an interest in a higher education career. After completing his master’s, he pursued a doctorate in administration and leadership. His dissertation on restorative justice in the college student conduct code received recognition from the Mid-Atlantic Association College and University Housing Officers.
An LVC alum, Bob believes The Valley community fosters strong relationships between students, faculty, and staff. This connection has a “profound impact on their development” as students and draws them back to the LVC community in a professional or personal capacity.
When not on campus, Bob focuses on family activities. He and his wife, Donna Teator Mikus ’90, have two children. Whether as a spectator or a coach, he enjoys supporting his children’s sports teams. He’ll squeeze in a round of golf or enjoy some college football in his free time. An avid college football fan, Bob admits that he will watch any team, anytime, anywhere, but his favorite teams are Penn State, Notre Dame, and of course, The Flying Dutchmen.
