Stacey Hollinger
Associate Director of Athletics
Deputy Title IX Coordinator
Senior Women’s Administrator
A Millersville University Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Stacey Hollinger was a standout field hockey and softball player during her college career. With her skill and passion for athletics, she knew she wanted to pursue a coaching career. Early in the process, she had to choose between two offers: One came from a college a few blocks from her home, and the other from LVC, which had a significant daily commute. Stacey “felt like a high school senior again,” trying to choose between the two. Since she had never heard of the Flying Dutchmen, Stacey assumed the school in her backyard would be the better choice, but after her first visit to LVC, she felt instantly connected to the community. She knew she would be happier here.
Stacey says the coaches and staff have a close bond, which extends to the students and families. The high-quality athletic staff is committed and caring toward all students. They are genuinely invested in a student-athlete’s success on and off the field. Coaches support other coaches and programs, which in her experience, is distinctive compared to other campuses.
Building relationships with students is the best part of her position. Regarding watching them grow during their college careers, she says; “We get four years to prepare them for the next 40.” While Stacey misses the bond she formed with her teams as LVC’s head softball for 18 years, she finds her current role as associate athletic director and deputy Title IX coordinator fulfilling. She can connect with many more students. Stacey feels fortunate because she looks forward to work every day and LVC makes her job easy because, “We just get great kids.”
Stacey, the all-time winningest softball coach at LVC, enjoys traveling in the U.S. and abroad. Looking back on her extensive travels, she is hesitant to pick a single favorite destination, but as an avid golfer, combining her love of travel and golf makes a trip even more special.
