Brian Boyer
Campus Safety Supervisor
Growing up less than a mile from Lebanon Valley College, Brian started his law enforcement and security career after high school. Initially, he was a correctional officer, then a police officer. He did some film-crew work at Annville’s local theatre, The Allen, which led to a production assistant’s position on the set of “Girl Interrupted,” which was filming in Harrisburg. During a conversation with one of the actors, Jared Leto, Brian mentioned his interest in becoming a bodyguard. He was moved from the film crew to security detail the following day. Building on that experience and those connections, Brian became a certified bodyguard, working in New York City and Los Angeles. He has met and worked with celebrities like John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Lisa Kudrow, Angelina Jolie, Winona Rider, and Beyoncé.
Eventually, he returned to Pennsylvania to become a deputy sheriff, then joined LVC’s campus security team in 2008. Having roots in the Annville area and spending his high school summers at LVC sports camps, he felt comfortable on campus and welcomed the change from his duties in law enforcement. Brian has received The Valley’s Commitment Award twice during his career, which recognizes a faculty or staff member for their loyalty and dependability to the campus community.
Brian’s favorite part of the job is the students! As a police officer, Brian arrested criminals, worked the streets, and frequently experienced an element of danger. Being able to interact, mentor, help, and guide students is still a breath of fresh air for Brian after 15 years on campus. He especially enjoys hearing from students who stay in contact after their time at LVC and considers them friends.
In his free time, Brian loves to race various vehicles. He grew up in an auto racing home and has been involved in the hobby since he was five. He has raced everything from go-karts to sprint cars to truck off-roading. Continuing the family tradition, Brian is teaching his children motocross racing.
