Yes. LVC signed and submitted the certification and agreement form to the United States Department of Education (ED).
LVC was awarded $2,135,202. This amount is based primarily on the number of full-time enrolled students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. A minimum amount of $721,353 will be awarded as direct grants to students.
Students who incurred expenses on or after December 27, 2020, in at least one of the following areas: tuition, fees, housing, meals, personal expenses, transportation, books, supplies, healthcare (including mental), or childcare,
and who completed a course in the Winter session or are/were enrolled as of 2/1/21 for the spring semester.
Due to federal regulations, international students and non-U.S. citizens/non-permanent residents are not eligible.
Unlike the emergency grants through the CARES Act, you are not required to file the FAFSA to be eligible; however, filing the FAFSA will ensure that you are receiving the largest grant possible. This applies to undergraduate students only.
For undergraduate students, you will receive the minimum award amount of $210 if you are a full-time student and $150 if you are a part-time student. For graduate students, the amount is based on whether you are a full-time or part-time student and not your expected family contribution (EFC) that is calculated by filing the FAFSA.
Based on guidance from ED, the number of eligible students, and the allocation LVC received, a committee of staff from the financial aid and business offices developed a methodology that would allow most students who incurred expenses to receive a grant. Grant amounts are based on the following factors: 1) Degree status (undergraduate vs. graduate), 2) Enrollment status (full-time or part-time), 3) Financial need as determined by the expected family contribution (EFC) for undergraduate students only.
Grants for full-time undergraduate students range from $210 to $1,680 (based on EFC).

Grants for full-time graduate students are $840.
Grants for part-time graduate students are $420.
Students who are eligible to apply were sent an email with instructions. If you did not receive an email, then you are not eligible. Log in to certify that you incurred expenses and confirm your address. Specifically, you must certify that you incurred expenses on or after 12/27/20 in at least one of the following areas: tuition, fees, housing, meals, personal expenses, transportation, books, supplies, healthcare (including mental), or childcare.
After certifying you incurred expenses and confirming your address, you will receive a check in the mail in 2 to 3 weeks.
Funds will be awarded until they are exhausted on a first-come, first-served basis
No. Emergency financial aid grants do not require repayment.
As of June 30, 2021, $721,353 has been distributed to 825 students. This information will be updated monthly as students certify they have expenses and LVC begins to disburse the grants.
Approximately 1,844 undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
