FAQs

LVC will post required quarterly expenditures here.

Yes. LVC signed and submitted the certification and agreement form to the United States Department of Education (ED).

LVC was awarded $3,781,983 million. This amount is based primarily on the number of full-time enrolled students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. $1,891,415 will be awarded as emergency grants to students.

Students who were enrolled during the 2021 spring semester, 2021 summer term, and/or 2021 fall semester and incurred emergency expenses in one of the following areas: tuition, fees, housing, meals, personal expenses, transportation, books and supplies, healthcare (including mental) or child care.

International students and non-U.S. citizens/non-permanent residents ARE eligible.

You are not required to file the FAFSA to be eligible; however, filing the 2021-2022 FAFSA will ensure that you are receiving the largest grant possible. This applies to undergraduate students only who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Non-U.S. citizens/non-permanent residents are not eligible to file.

If you are an undergraduate student, it is not too late. You can file the 2021-2022 FAFSA at studentaid.gov/fafsa. The amount of the grant you receive will be determined based on your expected family contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA that is on file at the end of the application period. You should file the FAFSA as soon as possible. Once processed, log in to certify expenses and confirm your address.

Based on guidance from ED, the number of eligible students and the allocation LVC received, a committee of staff from the financial aid and business offices developed a methodology that would allow students with the greatest financial need/costs to receive the largest grant amount. Grant amounts are based on the following factors: 1) Degree status (undergraduate vs. graduate), 2) Enrollment status (full-time vs. part-time), 3) Financial need as determined by the expected family contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA – for undergraduate students only. The criteria above will be used for the most recent semester you are enrolled to establish your grant amount.

EFC Band Grant Amount – Full-time Undergraduate Students (12 or more credits) Grant Amount – Part-time Undergraduate  Students (1 to 11 credits)
0-5846 $3,195 $1,598
