Good Taste: How LVC Students and Alumni Add Flavor to Our Lives
Fall 2024

In the Fall 2024 issue of The Valley, we explore how Lebanon Valley College students and alumni are making a mark on the food and beverage industry. Featured stories include AuBrei Weigand-Heller ’07, who leads product development at McCormick, and Shawn Houser-Fedor ’94, who heads confectionery innovation at The Hershey Company. We also dive into the food distribution leadership of Jeffrey Firestone ’86 at Dutch Valley Foods and the LVC Brew Crew’s annual tradition of crafting Flying Dutchmen Ale. Lastly, Dr. Walter Patton’s FYE course delves into the vital role of food and biotechnology in shaping civilization. Together, these stories highlight the diverse ways LVC alumni and students are adding flavor to our lives—one food science innovation at a time.
