Ways to Give
Happy Holidays! The Office of Advancement will be physically closed from December 20 at 12 p.m., and reopen on January 6 at 8 a.m., but you can still make your end-of-year gift easily. To ensure your gift is credited in the 2024 calendar year, your two best options are:
- Make a gift securely online here before midnight on December 31.
- Mail your check – dated and postmarked December 31, 2024 (or earlier) – via US Postal Service.
Additional information on the timing of your gift:
- All checks dated December 31 or earlier, postmarked 2024, and received by Friday, January 10, will be credited in the 2024 calendar year.
- If you mail a credit card gift, we must receive it in the Office of Advancement by Monday, December 30 for credit in 2024.
- Gifts of securities must be received in LVC’s brokerage account at Wells Fargo on or before Tuesday, December 31 to be credited in the 2024 calendar year. Please click here for additional information.
Per IRS guidelines, we will credit gifts received outside of the parameters above in the 2025 calendar year.

The Dutchmen Dialers are a dedicated group of students who call to connect alumni, parents, and friends with The Valley. You may be looking for a way to make a big difference to help further our mission. If you are 70½ or older you may also be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can help continue our work and benefit this year.
Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover
- Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to Lebanon Valley College
- Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year (if you are subject to RMD)
- Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
- Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
- Help further the work and mission of Lebanon Valley College
How an IRA charitable rollover gift works
- Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us.
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.
- Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
- Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.

If you have already arranged a planned gift, please share your plans with LVC and join more than 140 other members of the Miles Rigor Society.
You can designate your gift to a scholarship or research fund, make an unrestricted gift to The Valley Fund, or recommend recurring payments. Another option is to support programs that meet your interests, such as a specific academic department or an athletic team. You can also designate LVC as a beneficiary for your donor-advised fund.
How to recommend a gift to LVC
- Request a grant distribution through your DAF sponsor.
- Be sure to use the LVC’s EIN # 23-1352354
- Indicate whether your gift is unrestricted or designated to a specific cause i.e. the program, fund, or department you are supporting. You can also designate LVC as a beneficiary for your donor-advised fund.
