David Shapiro ’99

Dave is a proud LVC graduate who began a technology career after earning his Bachelor’s in English. He was soon lured by LVC seeing opportunities to grow and help with the transformation of technology in higher education. 

Dave rose through the ranks, becoming the Chief Information Officer and earning an MBA in Information Technology Management along the way. He has served the College in numerous roles, including as a Programmer and Formed System Administrator. In 2017, he was instrumental in launching LVC’s co-ed esports varsity team, the first in Pennsylvania, which he continues to lead as Director of Operations. 

What does he love about LVC besides the beautiful campus and incredible faculty and staff? 

“Working with students and staff every day. I have carried on the tradition of using a direct and personal approach that I experienced as an undergraduate. My division and I are committed to prioritizing students daily. We’re passionate about seeing them achieve success.  

Dave also freelances and consults on major technology projects outside the education sector, including solar and creative design services.  

A New Jersey native, Dave can be found at the beach or near water as often as possible. He enjoys working on AI or playing guitar while at home.
