Chair & Professor of Biology
Director of Pre-Medical Professions
Dr. Kristen L. Boeshore serves as Professor and Co-Chair of Biology and as Director of Pre-Medical Professions. She received her PhD in Neuroscience at Case Western Reserve University and carried out a five-year post-doctoral research position there. Her areas of expertise are developmental and regenerative neuroscience. She is interested in how the brain becomes “wired” during embryonic development and following disruptions by injury, disease states, and drug use. Her studies have looked at changes in gene expression, signaling pathways, and axonal regrowth after such disruptions. At LVC, Dr. Boeshore is Chair of the Pre-Medical Professions Committee, which advises and assists students along pre-medical tracks. She is also the faculty advisor for the Pre-Medical Professions Society.
