Human Physiology, Animal Behavior

I am originally from Ellwood City, Pa. (a little town about 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh), but have lived in Hershey for so long I feel like a native. I am in my 29th year teaching at LVC (I was VERY young when I started—wink). I finished my undergraduate degree in Biology at Westminster College before getting my doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Physiology at The Pennsylvania State University. I with my husband Bob (an Anesthesiologist and recently retired Hockey Linesman for the American Hockey League), two sons (Cole and Carson), and dog Teddy (a mini-goldendoodle). I like reading/watching murder mysteries, playing board games, and watching my sons’ sport matches (just to name a few hobbies).

My LVC research has largely focused on animal behavior in rodents, particularly spatial learning in rats and sucrose taste preferences in mice. I have also studied the effects of omega-3 deficiency on anxiety in rats.

Note: Dr. Goodman received the Lebanon Valley College Student Government Educator Award in 2001 and 2014.
