Clinical Mental Health Counseling 3+2 Program Mission

The mission of the Lebanon Valley College Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program is to prepare empathic counselors who have a strong foundation of knowledge, think critically and creatively to address complex issues, are committed to inclusive practices, and meet credentialing standards of their respective counseling profession.

 

Program Goals

The CMHC Program has the following student learning goals. CMHC graduates will: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to professional ethical standards,   
  • Display growth-orientation, professional skills, and flexibility,   
  • Explain and apply skills in multicultural counseling, diversity, and social justice advocacy,  
  • Exhibit proficient counseling skills in a wide variety of professional counseling settings,   
  • Incorporate best practices of trauma-informed care, and   
  • Use empirically based research to inform their counseling practice.
