English & Communications
If the world's a stage (as the Bard says), then English & Communications majors play the lead.
As writers, marketers, business leaders, teachers, and communicators in many fields, graduates of the LVC English & Communications program shape strategies; provide clear, concise, and crucial information; educate the next generation to be thoughtful critical thinkers; and, through their creativity, contribute to culture and society.
The ENG 299 Professionalization course will prepare you to discover, apply for, and thrive in a career that aligns with your goals and interests.
Learn More About the Program
As an English & Communications student at LVC, you can specialize in a few different areas: journalism and communications, literature, film, or theater. It’s easy to combine your interests by choosing double or even triple majors and performing with LVC’s popular Wig & Buckle Theater Company. Write and publish for the school newspaper, La Vie Collegienne, or our literary magazine, Green Blotter. Need-based departmental scholarships are available.
Every career requires skills in observation, analysis, collaboration, and communication. As you pursue your English & Communications degree, you’ll develop the ability to innovate, see what others miss, and express yourself in compelling, well-constructed language. These are just a few of the wide variety of career opportunities enjoyed by our graduates. For more, check out this short video made by students, faculty, and alumni.
