Food Science and Nutrition Minor
LVC’s Food Science and Nutrition minor will help you pursue a career in healthcare, scientific research, the food industry, pharmaceuticals, or public health. If you’re interested in becoming a Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN), you can follow a specific course sequence that fulfills prerequisites for accredited master’s programs after graduation.
The minor provides students with an interdisciplinary foundation through courses in our Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, and Exercise Science majors. Faculty will enhance students’ understanding of human metabolism, food chemistry and microbiology, food policy, and diet’s role in disease prevention. You’ll gain firsthand experience through laboratory work, research, internships, and/or community outreach and engagement.
