Academic Clubs
Accounting Club
The Accounting Club is a student organization intended for accounting majors to further their knowledge and interest in accounting, but it is also open to everyone on campus. We meet approximately four times a semester, where we bring in someone that works as an accountant, and hear about their journey from college to full-time career and, of course, the CPA exam, all of which is very useful information. Feel free to stop by and learn more about the accounting field.
Athletic Training Club
The Athletic Training Club’s goal is to expand the interest in Athletic Training and educate students about the profession. During meetings students will learn about different aspects of the profession, learn clinical skills, and meet peers from the program.
Biology Club
The Biology Club is a student-oriented, organized, and operated club that increases awareness of and interest in the biological sciences among non-science and science majors. Activities include social gatherings, field trips, raising money for charity organizations, educating the local community students, and planting pollinator gardens on campus.
Chemistry Club
An affiliate of the American Chemical Society, the Chemistry Club is open to all interested students. The mission of the club is the professional, academic, and social development of its members through participation in chemical symposia, student mentoring programs, and departmental-wide seminar series.
DigiVal (Digital Valley Club)
Digital Valley (DigiVal) is a club for all students interested in technology and emerging media. The group invites leaders in the industry to speak on LVC’s campus, holds fun social events, and allows students to collaborate and share ideas with others.
Environmental Club
The Environmental Club is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting environmental awareness around campus. The club is open to all who are interested and meets once a month. Members plan events such as the sustainability luncheon and host social activities like movie nights, trivia nights, and more.
Exercise Science Club
The overarching goal of the Exercise Science Club is to provide students with a community of people that share similar academic, professional, and/or recreational interests and to engage Lebanon Valley’s campus and surrounding community in activities and events centered around healthy living and physical activity. The Exercise Science Club is open to anyone who is interested in physical activity, exercise, strength and conditioning, athletic training, physical therapy, exercise as medicine, or similar interests.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), previously known as PBL, is a national organization providing opportunities for students to develop vocational competencies. The LVC chapter is very successful and is open to all students and majors. FBLA steadily increases membership; develops programs on business etiquette, skills and interviewing; brings in guest speakers for meetings; engages in tours of local businesses; and develops and promotes business sponsors. FBLA has hosted a regional conference and attended regional, state, and national competitions. The organization is an excellent venue for students to develop leadership and technical skills.
Global Education Club
This is a group of students dedicated to increasing curiosity and awareness about the world. The group consists of international, study abroad, and internationally-experienced students, or those who are just interested in learning more. The club meets bi-weekly and helps to organize Global Coffee Hours, International Education Week, Moon Festivals, Lunar New Year, the International Food Festival, and more!
Green Blotter Literary Society
The Green Blotter Literary Society is open to students dedicated to cultivating campus awareness and appreciation of the literary arts. The society sponsors on-campus presentations, readings, and workshops by professional writers, and publishes an annual literary magazine. Regular meetings help members develop clear, effective writing skills.
History Club
History Club is an academic club in which all majors are invited to join fellow history lovers in discussing various historical topics and going on history-related trips. Follow our Instagram @lvchistoryclub.
La Vie Collegienne
La Vie Collegienne is LVC’s student-run newspaper. Students are tasked with everything from picture taking, to covering campus events to laying out the pages for print. La Vie’s writers are also active on social media, updating fellow students and other followers of campus news via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Students can opt to get credit for their participation with the newspaper. The newspaper is typically published four to five times a semester. A shorter version, La Vie On the Go, is posted in buildings throughout campus weekly.
Math Club
Open to all students, the Math Club is an academic and social group dedicated to furthering interaction among students with interest in mathematics. We hold biweekly meetings and offer volunteer opportunities centered around engaging the community in our mathematical programs.
NAfME (National Association for Music Education)
The Lebanon Valley College chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) offers workshops and resources to students majoring in music education in order to provide opportunities for professional development. Membership is open to any student majoring in music education.
National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
The purpose of this organization is to help pre-professionals in the communication sciences and disorders/speech-language pathology department for their future careers. The organization plans service events and speakers that can help students grow their knowledge of the field. We welcome any student not within the department to share these experiences with us.
Neuroscience Club
The purpose of Neuroscience Club is to assemble a group of collegiate students with a particular interest in neuroscience and/or the mind-brain interaction who will promote the field of neuroscience. Students will serve to educate the campus and off-campus communities about neuroscience to create a broader interest in and an awareness of the expanding field. In addition, club members will mentor younger individuals in the Neuroscience major to help better their success and involvement at LVC.
Physical Therapy Club
The purpose of this organization is to create a medium for students to communicate between physical therapy faculty and each physical therapy class, to promote health awareness among students and faculty of Lebanon Valley College, and raise funds to promote the PT CURE free clinic. Club members also complete service projects throughout the year.
Physics Club
Open to all students who are interested in physics, the Physics Club assists students in developing the knowledge, competence, enthusiasm, communication skills, and leadership skills appropriate to the profession of physics or the sciences in general. Club meetings, field trips, and seminars are all oriented to achieve these goals.
Pre-Medical Professions Society
The Pre-Medical Professions Society is a student-run organization whose goal is to promote awareness of careers in the medical professions and to help build a community of like-minded students at LVC. The PMPS hosts speakers including LVC alumni, representatives from professional schools, and local health professionals. The Pre-Medical Professions Society holds meetings twice each month and encourages all interested students to join!
Psychology Club
The Psychology Club gives students interested in psychology the opportunity to socialize, discuss psychological issues, attend the Eastern Psychological Association Conference, and participate in community service. The club promotes academic and career development through graduate school/career preparation workshops, peer mentoring programs, and by hosting LVC alumni and community speakers to network and share their professional experiences.
Sociology Club
The Sociology Club is open to students in any major interested in a look at the “real world.” The club is focused on service learning in the community, academic initiatives, personal growth, departmental unification, and enrichment activities.
Student Nursing Association of PA (SNAP)
The National Student Nurse Association is dedicated to fostering the professional development of nursing students. With 50,000 members nationwide, NSNA is the voice of the future of the nursing profession. LVC has a Student Nurse Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) which provides students with the opportunity to join the national association as well.
Student Pennsylvania State Education Association (SPSEA)
The LVC chapter of SPSEA is open to all elementary, elementary/special, secondary, and music education students. While consisting of future teachers who all share a sincere love for children, the organization meets weekly and participates in local community service projects, provides leadership and professional development opportunities, and promotes political action and advocacy for children of all ages and backgrounds.
